Leopards Chairman Stepped Down
AFC Leopards Chairman Alex Ole Magelo has stepped down following intervention with the Football Kenya Federation(FKF) to appoint a six man management committee.
Magelo announced he was at solidarity with FKF’s decision to mention a team to oversee the affairs in the club and asked the club members, fans and also the playing unit to back up the committee.
“As being a life person in this glamour team, I would like to thank the federation for identifying this team. I’m fullysupport and may step aside and wish to go back over the ballot.”
Magelo who's credited with revamping they reiterated that club members are yearning for credible elections which will bring transparent officials.
“We have to settle football matters within the pitch and not in court. I've been on this team since 1986 as being a committee member. I never attended court to challenge anybody. This can be the very first time that some hooligans have opted to attend legal court. My interest is always to protect the team and be sure we make our club vibrant and also a powerhouse in the community”
Magelo vowed to get over and lead the club since he's goodwill from most club members and fans.”
FKF had earlier tuesday announced a six man committee to operate the club with an interim basis pending elections and also the results of a court case.
Members from the committee include Hussein Terry, Doris Petra, Patrick Naggi, Jack Oguda and Lilian Nzile while Mumias Sugar the sponsors in the club are actually permitted to appoint two different people to stay within the committee that can also incorporate the club’s technical bench members.
While appointing the committee, FKF chairman Sam Nyamweya said their mandate is to prepare the team with theremaining two KPL matches in the first leg.
“As being a extended measure, the federation will liaise using the registrar of societies to operate over a guideline towards elections ahead of the second leg kicks-off.”
