Karuturi Sports emerged victorious in the much anticipated flower derby beating neighbours Oserian 1-0 in an exciting match played in Naivasha on Sunday.
Mohamed Mwachiponi scored the winner in the 6th minute pouncing on a Jacob Omondi’s pass and placing the ball at the far corner past a hapless George Ochieng in the Oserian goal.
The visitors mounted a fight back but it was not enough to create any meaningful chance as Karuturi soaked in the pressure with their solid defence remaining steadfast.
“I am happy with our overall performance and it’s really great to see that we are winning important games,” Karuturi coach Michael Nam told SuperSport.com.
His counterpart Sammy Otinga was crestfallen, “It’s sad we lost again despite fighting relentlessly but hopefully we will recover in the mid season.”
